This series of images is inspired by the time of lockdown during coronavirus pandemic in March and April 2020 that my daughter and I spent together.
We just walked to the Baltic Sea every day and enjoyed the little details that we found in the nature. We discovered that we were able to observe nature during a long time and that it could fill us with a variety of positive emotions. For the first time I realized how stressed I used to be in such places of nature before. I felt almost physically an invisible wall separating me and this sense of nature.
And so, the idea was born to create a series of photo works exploring the complicated relationship of people with nature and their inner search for peace with it.
The minimalist shapes of human body, the almost elusive face and infinite landscapes emphasize the distance and points of convergence between them. Each image is a visual statement about our emotional states during interaction with nature.
